I have a Kenwood KDC-2011s that I want to install in my 92 S-10 Blazer. I have identified the speaker wires, purple, green, white, and grey. I know the red is the hot wire (battery), and the black is ground. I have 2 other wires that I need to know what to do with. The first is yellow and it has a black inline box about 10 inches from the rear of the head unit. The second is blue and white and is capped with a wire nut. This came out of my cousins car and my uncle gave it to me after I helped him clean out his garage.
Is this a good deal for free?
I also have RCA jacks in back that are labeled Rear R/L. What are they for if I have them already in the wiring harness?
Thanks!

Most likely, this is also a power wire. Most head units have a power wire that goes to the ignition, and one that goes to the battery. From what I've seen, I'd say the red wire will go to an ignintion or fuse source, something that loses power once you turn of the key. The yellow wire should go to the battery, something with a constant power connection. This constant connection is so you don't have to reset your clock or radio stations everytime you get in the car.
But by all mean, double check me, try to power only the red and ground the black. If the radio comes on and keeps its memory, tape the yellow wire up and ignore it. If it doesn't work, you'll need to power the yellow.
You got some choices here. As a personal prefence, I always hook both wires to the battery. These allows me to listen to the radio with the key in the ignition. Some will probably advise against this, but I've never had any trouble. Only thing, you have to make sure you turn off the radio, or you'll have a dead battery. The black box is a fuse box. if your radio doesn't work, check the fuse inside that box.
This is what you call a "remote line" it is for use with an amplifier. If you do not wish to install and amp and subwoofers, ignore this.
If you do, you'll need this wire to control the amp. Your amp will have 3 power connections, a 12V, and Ground, and a Remote. The blue wire on your stereo goes to the remote portion of the amp. This turns the amp on when you turn on the radio, and prevents you from killing your battery.
RCA jacks....These also go to the amp. They carry the audio signal from the head unit to the amplifier. Again, if you are not installing an amp, ignore it.
